We were tired of choosing between desktop and mobile viewers. Tired of running unstable streaming software stacks held together by plugins. Tired of watching half our potential audience scroll past because we picked the wrong aspect ratio.

So in 2025, we built DualStream. Not because we’re heroes (though we’ll accept the title), but because streaming to everyone shouldn’t require a computer science degree and 15 plugins.

Turns out, when you build something you actually need, other people need it too. Who knew?

Why now?

Vertical isn’t a sub-format anymore — it’s where net-new audience lives. TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and YouTube vertical live now drive most of the discovery on the open internet. The audience already moved.

Meanwhile, the streaming software the world uses was designed when desktop was the only screen that mattered. Bolting a second format on top of a single-format engine is a multi-year rebuild — one that legacy tools, with millions of broadcasters depending on them, can’t pause the plane to do.

That gap is what we built DualStream to close. Native dual-format from day one. The Format Tax compounds every month it goes unfixed.
